Head - Physical & Health Education
Istvan Jozsi is a Hungarian international educator and sports leader with over 17 years of experience across Europe, South America, and Asia. His professional journey began in Hungary, where his passion for football developed into a playing career at the National League level. He later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Qualified Teacher Status in the UK, laying the foundation for a career that has brought together teaching, coaching, curriculum development, and sports leadership across diverse educational contexts.
Over the years, Istvan has held leadership roles in international schools in Hungary, Chile, India, and Romania, leading Physical Education and sports programmes with a strong focus on curriculum development, student participation, competitive sport, and community engagement. His experience also extends beyond schools, having served as Head Coach of a professional women’s football team in Chile, where he helped the team achieve its best-ever fourth-place finish. At JBCN International School in Mumbai, he expanded the sports programme from two to fourteen disciplines, strengthened competitive opportunities for students, and invested in the development of his team through collaboration and professional learning.
Istvan believes that Physical Education is about much more than sport and performance. He is passionate about creating inclusive and engaging experiences where every student feels supported, appropriately challenged, and encouraged to discover what they are capable of. He sees sport as a powerful vehicle for developing confidence, resilience, teamwork, discipline, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity. His international experience has also shaped his ability to work across cultures and educational systems, bringing adaptability, innovation, and a strong community focus to his leadership.
Outside of his professional life, Istvan enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through sport. Having lived and worked across Hungary, the UK, Chile, India, and Romania, he values the opportunity to experience different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life. He describes these international experiences as an important part of his personal growth, helping him become more adaptable and open to new perspectives.
